On November 18, 2017, Mitchell County Elementary School’s very own Ka’darius Dixon read an essay during the Baconton Pecan Festival. Ka’darius, a 4th grade student in Ms. Sandra Thomas’ class, read his essay entitled “My Hometown” to the hundreds of people who were visiting. Although there were many people present at the time of his reading, Ka’darius didn’t miss a beat. He was articulate and not nervous at all! Because of Ka’darius, the people in attendance were able to hear all the great things about the town of Baconton as Ka’darius shared why his hometown of Baconton, GA is special. Ms. Vicki Hicks, principal of MCES, was in attendance, as well as other faculty, staff, and students showing our “Baby Eagle Pride” because Ka’darius did an awesome job!
